Responsible for maintaining enterprise network infrastructure, associated networking equipment, and voicevideo systems infrastructure. Install and configure network infrastructure systems including network routers, switches, virtual LANs, and network appliances following proper credit union procedures.


1. Daily Operations
    a. Analyze performance logs for errors or inconstancies of all network managed systems. Present findings with corrective action plan to manager.
    b. Create and manage reports to be delivered on scheduled basis to manager. Reports include by not limited to health, performance, security, and system availability reports.
    c. Provision network resources for network connected devices such as thin clients, PC's, printers, phones, and TV's.
    d. Configure, deploy, and manage network routers, switches, and appliances following manager's direction, consultant's recommendations, and documented credit union procedures.
    e. Install data cable, cross connects, & phone lines required for network equipment to ensure the presentation and quality meets I.T. expectations.
2. System Management
    a. Maintain network infrastructure health, stability, and security through proper monitoring and reporting.
    b. Operate and maintain the voice and video systems for the enterprise including, but not limited to, all adds, moves, and changes.
    c. Perform hardware upgrades, software upgrades, and new installs on a regular schedule following proper change management.
    d. Maintain hardware, software, and configurations on managed systems to ensure efficient performance of equipment, remote connectivity, and correct licensing.
    e. Maintain business continuity by ensuring configuration backup(s) are completing successfully and identifying single points of failures to ensure system availability and integrity.
    f. Establish and maintain environment performance metrics and perform regular system audits.
    g. Work with other infrastructure team members to ensure proper network and server configurations are in place and capable of meeting the performance standards of the voice and video systems.
3. Assist with creation and maintenance of technical documents and procedures.
4. Inventory new and decommissioned equipment.
5. Assist with business continuity testing.
6. Infrastructure support to I.T. Service Desk assisting with enterprise network related issues.
7. Maintain knowledge of managed systems and environment thru self-study and other approved training opportunities.
8. Participate in departmental on-call scheduling as well as weekly maintenance window schedules.
9. All other duties as assigned.


Associate Degree or comparable college units/certifications in Information Technology related courses. Three (3) years of equivalent experience


Minimum of (3) three years of progressive IT experience with two of the three years in network enterprise infrastructure. Must possess and maintain (or be able to obtain) the following certifications: CompTIA Security +, CompTIA Network +, and CCNA.


Excellent communication skills both verbal and written to translate technical jargon for non-technical peers. Ability to establish and maintain technical documentation. Must be highly organized and possess exemplary time management skills in order to manage projects.


Position involves wrist/hand manipulation; good visual acuity for detail work; ability to bend stoop on a regular basis; reach overhead and lift up to 50 pounds. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision for frequent viewing of computer monitor and review of documents. Must possess a valid Texas driver's license, means of transportation and be able to travel independently.


Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must have a strong ability to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must have a strong ability to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be able remain calm and professionally when working with different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization. Must demonstrate the highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Can exercise the highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.


PCs and printers, telecommunications equipment, calculator, fax and copy machine. Knowledge of IT infrastructure as applied both in high volume business processing environments and in consumer-oriented businesses. Working knowledge of virtualization technologies, enterprise network design & topologies, Microsoft Active Directory, DHCP, and radius authentication. Experience with Cisco routers and switches highly desired.
